Rachel Alina is a New York City–based mixing engineer, poet, and instructor who has worked in every production situation imaginable, with artists ranging from Stephen Marley and Gabriel Garzón-Montano to King Garbage and P!nk. Her career in music engineering began under the mentorship of the legendary Shelly Yakus, and soon developed into working on records with Katy Perry and other industry icons in L.A. As a creative, she loves working with vintage sound equipment, and can switch seamlessly between digital and analog tools.

Currently, Alina works exclusively from her mix room in Brooklyn's Dumbo neighborhood, and travels to Boston once a week to teach at Berklee College of Music. As an educator, she deeply values her ability to provide mentorship to students, and to set an example for young professionals in her field. Joining the faculty at Berklee NYC is an exciting opportunity for her to continue fostering community and mentorship in her profession.
