Review the important information below on how to submit these materials correctly.

When possible, all documents should be uploaded or submitted in PDF format.

Statement of Purpose

Please provide a 500-word written essay (exported to a PDF, in English/translated to English) or a two- to four-minute video presentation (uploaded to YouTube). This personal statement should include:

  • an overview of your background;

  • why you are applying to the program; and

  • a brief analysis of artistic and professional opportunities that interest you.

Your résumé or CV should include your personal details, educational background, and work experience. The document must be written in or translated to English and a PDF.

One Letter of Recommendation

Your letter of recommendation should come from someone you have worked or collaborated with who can affirm and convey your strengths and skills. The letter must be written in or translated to English and a PDF.

We require official transcripts from your undergraduate bachelor’s degree. Do not submit transcripts for additional degrees or for high school. Applicants need to successfully complete their bachelor’s degree in order to start the master's degree program, and must submit official transcripts before the start of the program.

If you are admitted, you will be required to submit a copy of your diploma from your college or university before enrolling at Berklee.

If you are in the final year of your bachelor's degree program, you must submit your official transcripts for initial review. After graduation you will be required to submit your official, final transcripts or proof of graduation in order to matriculate.

How to Submit Your Transcript

Note: You are not required to submit GMAT or GRE scores with this application.

English Exam

Applicants for whom English is a second language must submit the results of one of the following standardized tests taken within two years of starting the graduate program:

When you send your exam scores, you may be asked for Berklee’s institution code: 3107.

If you completed at least two years of full-time study at an English-speaking college or university, this requirement may be waived upon receipt of your transcripts.

Proof of Graduation

If you are admitted, a copy of your diploma or final transcript noting degree conferral date from your college or university must be submitted before you can enroll at Berklee.
