Portfolios
Applicants to Berklee NYC's Master of Arts in Creative Media and Technology program are required to submit a portfolio that highlights examples of recent artistic work, along with detailed explanations of their role in the works. The specific portfolio requirements will depend on which specialization the candidate is applying for
Live Music Production and Design Portfolio
Applicants to our live music production and design specialization are required to submit a portfolio that includes the following:
Two projects demonstrating your experience in any of the following areas: live visuals for music or other live events, video production, lighting design, set design, sound design, live music and/or art installations, performance art, and stage management for live theater or a music festival.
For each project, you must include a detailed write-up of:
- your specific role;
- your conceptual approach, and;
- what technologies you used.
- If relevant, you can include a paragraph on the collaborative aspects of the projects and what challenges you encountered.
Combine these into a PDF with photos (as needed) and all hyperlinks embedded into the document.
Students are encouraged to include links to a short video (an unlisted YouTube link or Vimeo link) and/or audio recordings (SoundCloud, Spotify, Bandcamp, etc.) to demonstrate the projects discussed.
These links can be embedded into the PDF. Double-check your links to make sure they are accurate and operational.
Writing and Design for Musical Theater Portfolio
Applicants to our writing and design for musical theater specialization are required to submit a portfolio that includes the following:
Three projects demonstrating your experience in any combination of the following areas: songwriting; book writing for theater or musical theater; design for theater, television, or film; and scriptwriting or storyboarding for television, music video, or film.
For each project, you must include a detailed write-up of:
- your specific role;
- your conceptual approach, and;
- what technologies you used.
- If relevant, you can include a paragraph on the collaborative aspects of the project and what challenges you encountered.

- If relevant, you can include a paragraph on the collaborative aspects of the project and what challenges you encountered.
