Claire Marie Lim is a music technologist and electronic musician, active under her artist project dolltr!ck. A pioneering faculty member of the electronic digital instrument (EDI) program at Berklee, she specializes in instruction for electronic performance, as well as production and programming under her educational moniker the smol prof.
Lim is an advocate of women and Asian representation in music technology. She is an Ableton Certified Trainer, a Bitwig Certified Trainer, and an Apple Certified Pro, and consults for artists from Universal Music Group, Spinnin’ Records, Monstercat, Liquicity, and more. A wearer of many hats, Lim has been a producer, songwriter, performance designer, audio engineer, playback technician, synthesist, and more throughout her career. She has worked on the teams of Grammy-winning and Billboard-charting artists, such as Alphabet Rockers, Dua Lipa, Lizzo, Wang Leehom, 070 Shake, Nona Hendryx (Labelle), My Brightest Diamond, lullaboy, and Agnez Mo, among others.
As dolltr!ck, Lim is known for her live electronic performances that seamlessly combine dreamy synths, punchy drum machines, and processed vocals, tied together by dynamic controllerism. Her endeavors have been hailed as “shattering the glass ceiling of electronic music,” gaining recognition from the likes of Spotify, iHeartRadio, Broadway World, Sofar Sounds, and the Recording Academy. Having worked with organizations such as Splice, the International Center of Photography, and Coursera to bring music technology education to the masses, Lim continues to collaborate with initiatives such as We Make Noise (formerly Beats By Girlz), FEMME HOUSE, and the New York Public Library network to share creative tools with the community.
