Confirm Your Interview
All applicants are required to complete a self-recorded interview on the Kira Talent interview platform. Selected applicants will then be invited to interviewwith the admissions team. Discussing your musical background and future career goals will help the admissions team determine if you are a good fit for our programs.

We’ll send you an email when your admission decision is posted to the application portal. Your decision will also include information regarding any Berklee scholarship awards.

Portfolios
Applicants to Berklee NYC's Master of Arts in creative media and technology program are required to submit a portfolio that highlights examples of recent artistic work, along with detailed explanations of their role in the works. Each specialization has specific portfolio requirements, outlined below.
Live Music Production and Design Portfolio
Applicants to our live music production and design specialization are required to submit a portfolio submission form that includes the following:
Two projects demonstrating your experience in any of the following areas: visual content creation for live events, video production, lighting design, set design, sound design, live music and/or art installations, performance art, or stage management for live events.

Writing and Production for Musical Theater Portfolio
Applicants to our writing and production for musical theater specialization are required to submit a portfolio submission form that includes the following:
A song example with either your music or lyrics, or both.
A song example written solely by you, or another song collaboration.
An additional music example (for composers) or an additional lyric (for wordspersons).
A writing sample of your choice or an additional lyric.

Songwriting and Production Portfolio
Applicants to our songwriting and production specialization are required to submit a portfolio submission form that includes the following:
Three projects demonstrating your experience in any combination of the following areas: songwriting, beat making, top-lining, music and/or vocal production, mixing and sound design.

Statement of Purpose
Please provide a 500-word written essay (exported to a PDF, in English/translated to English) or a two- to four-minute video presentation (uploaded to YouTube). This personal statement should include:
an overview of your background;
why you are applying to the program; and
a brief analysis of artistic and professional opportunities that interest you.
Résumé/CV
Your résumé or CV should include your personal details, educational background, and work experience. The document must be written in or translated to English and a PDF.
One Letter of Recommendation
Your letter of recommendation should come from someone you have worked or collaborated with who can affirm and convey your strengths and skills. The letter must be written in or translated to English and a PDF.
Transcripts
We require official transcripts from your undergraduate bachelor’s degree. Do not submit transcripts for additional degrees or for high school. Applicants need to successfully complete their bachelor’s degree in order to start the master's degree program, and must submit official transcripts before the start of the program.
If you are admitted, you will be required to submit a copy of your diploma from your college or university before enrolling at Berklee.
If you are in the final year of your bachelor's degree program, you must submit your official transcripts for initial review. After graduation, you will be required to submit your official, final transcripts or proof of graduation in order to matriculate.
Applicants for whom English is a second language must submit the results of one of the following standardized tests taken within two years of starting the graduate program. (Please note that Berklee's institution code is 3107.)
If you completed at least two years of full-time study at an English-speaking college or university, this requirement may be waived upon receipt of your transcripts.
Proof of Graduation
If you are admitted, a copy of your diploma or final transcript noting degree conferral date from your college or university must be submitted before you can enroll at Berklee.
