Betsie Becker
Betsie Becker brings more than 20 years of leadership experience in higher education and arts administration, and a passion for developing performing arts programs, to this interim role. As interim executive director of Berklee NYC, Becker is responsible for overseeing the strategic direction and day-to-day operations of Berklee NYC's academic programs and the professional and commercial operations of the Power Station Studios at Berklee NYC.
Becker joined Berklee in 2019 as assistant vice president for global program development, providing strategic, design, and operational leadership. In this role, she helped shape the vision, design, execution, and operations of Berklee Global's programs and educational activities around the world. In addition to her work with Berklee Global, Becker played a critical role leading Berklee’s Emerging Issues Task Force, a cross-functional, pan-institutional team charged with quickly gaining insights on areas in need of hands-on assistance, as well as developing and implementing streamlined solutions.
Before Berklee, Becker served as managing director of global K–12 programs at The Juilliard School, overseeing the development of comprehensive performing arts curricula and the associated teacher professional development training, as well as visiting artist and summer intensive programs. She also worked at Carnegie Hall as a founding administrator for Ensemble Connect, a fellowship program between Carnegie Hall and Juilliard, and served as executive director of Decoda, the New York City–based chamber ensemble.
Becker holds a Bachelor of Music in voice from Indiana University Bloomington and a master’s degree in organizational leadership from the University of Colorado Boulder.
