Graduate Assistantships
Student Employment
As part of the Berklee Career Center, Student Employment gives students the opportunity to expand their skill set while further connecting with the Berklee NYC community. We offer an array of graduate assistantship positions, which provide opportunities for students to work part-time on campus, helping them to meet some of their living expenses. Read more about the application process below.
Berklee NYC students can apply to be a graduate assistant through student employment. These paid positions allow students to support and manage Berklee NYC's technology and equipment, work on-campus events and concerts, curate Berklee NYC's social media and content, support Career Center programming, and so much more!
Open to students with social security numbers, positions pay $18 per hour and have time commitments ranging from five (5) to fifteen (15) hours per week, depending on the position. Please note, you must have a social security number in order to be eligible to work. If you are an international student without a social security number, you are still eligible to apply for a graduate assistantship position but you will need to complete the social security number process after you are selected and before you can begin working. This typically results in international students starting to work in the spring semester.
The application process for student employment is highly competitive. An incoming student should not rely on a graduate assistantship position to cover their finances as a graduate student living in New York City. Selected applicants will not be notified until early to mid-August.

This may be the only time students are able to apply for student employment at Berklee NYC. Additional hiring periods are only done as needed when there are vacancies on the graduate assistantship team.
If you have not made your deposit to secure your spot at Berklee NYC, you are not eligible to apply for student employment.
