William F. Wells B.M. ’11 was born and raised in Erial, New Jersey. During his time at Berklee, he focused on film scoring and music production and engineering while simultaneously honing his skills as a songwriter, arranger, conductor, and musician. In 2011, Wells moved to L.A. and served as senior engineer at Woodshed Recording. He continued on to tour North America with the electro-pop duo LMFAO and later with Canadian music sensation and Quincy Jones protègè Nikki Yanofsky.

He has since had the opportunity to work with such renowned artists as Quincy Jones, Barbra Streisand, RZA and Wu-Tang Clan, Wyclef Jean, DJ Premier, Michael McDonald, Sky Blu (of LMFAO), Logic, and many others. He worked on the Tony-, Grammy-, and Pulitzer Prize–winning hit Broadway musical Hamilton, and cowrote "Can't Sleep Love," the lead single for Pentatonix's chart-topping self-titled album.

Most recently, Wells served as executive producer and cowriter of the debut album from Anthony Ramos, The Good & The Bad, released on Republic Records. Wells continues to thrive in the film and television world: He wrote the end-title song (“Stand Up”) for the Harriet Tubman biopic Harriet in 2019, and he was commissioned by ESPN to write the first-ever theme song for the 2019 Heisman Trophy Ceremony, serving as musical director for the national live television broadcast in 2019 and 2020.
